If you’re still seeking out your first pull-up, don’t fret. You’re not alone. Even the world’s top athletes struggle to pull their bodyweight above the bar sometimes. Just ask top NHL prospect Sam Bennett. The 17-year-old center with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League failed to complete a single pull-up at the NHL scouting combine this weekend.
Fortunately for Bennett, scouts are judging him on talent, not reps.
“I was definitely disappointed in myself,” Bennett told The Canadian Press. “I was wanting to do the best I can in every test. But, I guess, ultimately games aren’t won or lost if you can do a pull-up in the gym.”
